Apathy of Muslims at Its Peak

The Holy Quran recounts an incident in which a group of people hamstrung a she-camel, an act that ultimately brought complete destruction upon their settlement.

Today, Muslim countries appear largely unmoved by the US–Israel war imposed on Iran. Now, President Donald Trump has declared that Iran will be taken “back to the Stone Age” if it does not agree to a ceasefire on US terms.

In the past, we have witnessed the devastation of Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Lebanon—largely enabled by the apathy of the Muslim world. With little to no resistance, these nations were left vulnerable to destruction. There seems to persist a misplaced belief that such turmoil will engulf others, but spare one’s own country.

Israel, with the backing of the United States, continues to pursue the idea of a “Greater Israel.” Yet, despite decades of sustained pressure, neither Israel nor the United States has succeeded in bringing Iran to its knees.

It is a stark reality that no Arab monarchy would be able to withstand a combined US–Israel assault even for a few hours.

Let it be said plainly: if Iran is destroyed, the entire Arabian Peninsula could be exposed to occupation, paving the way for the realization of the “Greater Israel” ambition.

  1. According to Bloomberg, Iran pressed on with attacks across the Persian Gulf hours before Donald Trump’s 8 pm deadline to agree to a ceasefire plan. There’s some more insight into the president’s thinking about the war—behind his recent musings about seizing Iranian oil lies a goal of using US global energy dominance to gain leverage against China.

  2. According to The Hill, Iran is showing no signs of backing down as President Trump’s deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is hours away, poising the commander-in-chief to either follow through on a major escalation of the war or once again push back his ultimatum.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Monday that it “officially rejects” the US proposed 15-point peace plan to end the conflict, calling it “unrealistic.”

  3. According to the Associated Press, US President Donald Trump has pushed back a deadline for Iran to cut a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz from Monday to Tuesday, the latest of several deadline delays, and threatened that without a deal “Hell will reign down on them.”
Trump’s previous deadline was for March 23, but that shifted several times over the ensuing weeks as the Republican president oscillated between heated threats, announced delays and proclamations that the negotiations were going well, sometimes in the same statement.
Iran has rejected the latest ceasefire proposal, the country’s state-run IRNA news agency reported Monday. Shortly after, Trump gave an ominous warning to Iran if it didn’t capitulate and suggested Tuesday’s 8 pm EDT deadline was final.
“They’ll have no bridges. They’ll have no power plants. They’ll have no anything,” he said.

  4. Some Republican lawmakers are growing wary about the military conflict in Iran, which has entered its sixth week and could escalate further after President Trump urged Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face “all Hell.”
The Iran operation is unfolding at a politically precarious moment for Republicans, as the midterm election season ramps up and segments of the MAGA base grow increasingly restless over a perceived drift away from the “America First” agenda.
While Trump initially projected the operation would only last for four to five weeks, he has since escalated tensions — most notably by threatening strikes on Iran’s infrastructure over the weekend — and hasn’t ruled out US boots on the ground, moves that risk a longer, more entangled conflict.
